Lucinda L. Jasper Scholarship Fund

The Lucinda L. Jasper Scholarship encourages and fosters education in the challenging environment of rigorous academics and deep sense of community provided by Archdiocese of Washington’s Catholic high schools. Two scholarships, in the amounts of $3,000.00 and $2000.00, are awarded annually. Any student graduating from an Archdiocese of Washington Catholic grade school who has been accepted to an Archdiocese of Washington Catholic high school may apply.

Students are judged on three criteria:

  • academic record,
  • school recommendations and
  • 1,500 to 2,500 word essay on an African American who has influenced the applicant to continue on to higher education. Schools attended by our past winners include Georgetown Visitation, DeMatha, Holy Cross, St. John’s, Georgetown Preparatory, Archbishop Carroll, and Bishop McNamara.
